We finished winter reading fluency testing today.  Most of your scores improved GREATLY!!

In Math you took the official Ch. 5 test (unless you passed the “pink” test yesterday!)

In Science you wrote a 4-step summary paragraph for two Science Story selections – Class-2 Levers and Class-3 Levers.

In Social Studies your mosaic is due Tuesday.  Remember to bring scissors and glue to class!

Several of you passed the Chapter 5 “pink test” in Math today.  If you didn’t go over your incorrect answers to see what went wrong to be ready to take the final test tomorrow!!

In Reading we finished Stormbreaker!!  Your RC points are due tomorrow!!

In Science we had Food Sense – delicious!!

In Mrs. Ruygrok’s Social Studies class your mosaic it due Tuesday, Jan. 31st.  Keep bringing your scissors and glue!

In Science today you drew diagrams for eight real world levers.  Draw diagrams for the two lever classes for the hammer, have your parents initial it, and I have a reward for you!!

In Math we divided mixed numbers.  Your assignment was MA5-10 practice worksheet 5-10.  Tomorrow we’ll take the “pink test” and you can practice for it using the Ch. 5 practice test on the Math page of this website.

In Reading you had almost the whole period to READ!!!!  We also did some fluency testing.

In Reading today we got to the climax of Stormbreaker in Ch. 16.  Remember your RC point goal should be reached by Thursday.

In Math we began dividing fractions.  Your assignment is MA5-9 practice worksheet 5-9.  Fix papers deadline is Thursday.

In Science we talked about Real-world levers.  Tomorrow you will diagram 8 of them.

For Mrs. Ruygrok’s Social Studies class you completed GROW 10 in class.  Bring scissors and glue to class tomorrow.

In Reading today we read the rest of Ch. 13 and Ch. 14 up to the middle of p. 196 in Stormbreaker.  Next Thursday (Jan. 26) is the date to meet your Reading Counts point goal.  Some of you need to INCREASE the amount of reading you’re doing so you can complete more books and quizzes!!  You should have read about 500,000 words by Friday!!

In Math you completed the Spiral Review on p. 290 AND did the Quiz 3 & 4 worksheet.  Fix any papers you can before next Thursday.

In Science you did the Wrap-up for Investigation 2 part 2 and we read the Science Story – “Wheel & Axle”.

For Mrs. Ruygrok’s Social Studies class your Atlas 11 worksheet is due Monday.

In Reading we analyzed your answers to the MSP Practice Test – “Flame of the Candle.”  We also read two pages of Ch. 13 in Stormbreaker.  Make sure to have your new home reading minute goal signed.  Some of you need to read at least 150 minutes at home per week!!  The quarter ends next Friday, so your RC point goal must also be met by Thursday!!!

In Math we reviewed multiplying mixed numbers.  Your assigment was MA5-8a – p. 289 #6-28 (even) and 34 & 35 (EC#36) or the inde assignment.

In Science you drew lever diagrams and set up the lever systems according to the diagrams.

For Social Studies your Ancient Rome map is due tomorrow.  You did research in the library today.  Please note: Rome poster #2 is due February 1st!!

In Reading you completed the SRI winter test.  Read, Read, Read!!!!

In Math you completed the SMI winter test.  Make sure to fix any papers you can!!

In Science you made Class 2 and Class 3 levers.  Explain to your parents what the mnemonic is that helps you remember where things go in each class (and how it helps you)!  Goodies….

In Reading today we completed Ch. 12 of Stormbreaker.  Make sure you are completing books and passing quizzes toward your goal.

In Math we multiplied mixed numbers.  Your assignment was MA5-8 – Practice worksheet 5-8.

In Science we reviewed the I-Check quiz for Investigation 1.  Many of you need to FIX IT!!  We also began looking for different arrangements of the fulcrum, load, and position of the effort.

In Social Studies with Mrs. Ruygrok, poster #1 is due tomorrow.

In Reading today you did the MSP practice test “Flame of the Candle.”  READ, READ, READ over the weekend.  If you have read less than 300,000 words so far this quarter, your minutes per week at home goal is now 125 minutes; less than 200,000 your goal per week is now 150 minutes.  Make sure the page numbers are filled in on your record sheet and it is SIGNED EVERY WEEK!!!

In Math your assignment was two spiral reviews:  p. 279 & 286.

In Science you took the I-check quiz for Investigation 1.

Remember you have Social Studies work due Tuesday (check yesterday’s post!).
